Hi, I’m Ellie —
also known as S.B. Ellie, indie author and storyteller at heart.
Author. Mother. Farmer. Veteran.
I write cult-fueled dystopian romance where the love is messy, the stakes are high, and no one gets out whole.
When I’m not emotionally tormenting fictional characters, you’ll find me lounging by the pool with my husband, chasing kids through the chaos of our farm, or savoring strong coffee like it’s a religious experience. I believe in good stories, good food, and that there’s no such thing as too much drama — as long as it’s on the page.
With over 16 years of writing experience (and many hours spent elbows-deep in messy drafts), I know firsthand how overwhelming the indie publishing process can be. From plot holes to formatting headaches, I’ve been in the trenches — and now I’m here to help you climb out of them.
I launched my editing and formatting service to support indie authors like you. Whether you’re polishing your debut or leveling up your tenth book, I bring an author’s eye, a reader’s heart, and an editor’s precision to every project.
In my spare time, I proudly volunteer as the Vice Chair for The Indie Author Revolution, helping build a community where authors uplift authors and no one has to go it alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s your toxic trait as a writer?
Giving my characters zero peace and calling it “character development.”
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Texas – where I hang my hat! I was raised on books, sarcasm, and caffeine.
Why did you start writing?
The fun answer? Because I couldn’t find the kind of messy, doomed love stories I wanted to read – so I did it myself.
The real answer? Writing was my escape. My freedom. My zen.
What’s one thing all your characters have in common?
Deep trust issues and excellent cheekbone structure.
What are your favorite tropes?
Fated Mates. Forced Proximity. Betrayal.
Are your books happily ever after?
If by HEA, you mean everyone survives emotionally intact?
Absolutely not.
Are you going to write more books after Ruined in Blood?
Ruined in Blood is the first of the dark thriller why choose cult series – The Sanctified Ruin Trilogy. And yes, there will be MANY more novels and series.
In all genres.
Where can I find you when you’re not writing, editing or formatting?
Lurking on Discord in The Indie Author Revolution server, drinking a Canada Dry, or reading an omegaverse trilogy. I love to swim, to spend time with my kids, and watch really awful movies with my husband.
